Saurav Jaiswal is taking the helm as Co-founder, Managing Director, and CEO (Designate) of Kiwi General Insurance Limited – a digital-first insurance startup backed by WestBridge Capital and former TATA AIG General Insurance CEO Neelesh Garg.

Jaiswal’s appointment followed the approval of Kiwi General Insurance’s first-round application from India’s Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) on 17 July.

Before assuming the role, Jaiswal served as the President and COO at TATA AIG General Insurance for nearly 2 years. He also held previous senior positions across bancassurance, sales, and retail strategy at ICICI Lombard and Bharti AXA General Insurance.

According to its website, Kiwi General Insurance aims to be a digital-native insurance firm, offering coverage for auto, home, health, and business. The firm must secure two additional clearances from the IRDAI before obtaining a full licence to operate, as it seeks to enter India’s expanding market.
