PSC Insurance Brokers has appointed James Thornberry as head of trade credit and surety, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.

Thornberry brings more than 25 years of experience in credit insurance, banking, and financial services, having previously held senior leadership roles at National Credits Insurance (Brokers) Pty Ltd, where he was managing director until last year. He has also had prior stints at Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, National Australia Bank, and St. George Bank.

In his new role, Thornberry will lead the continued expansion of PSC’s trade credit offering, working alongside recent senior hires across both NSW/ACT and Victoria, and further integrating trade credit acumen across PSC’s broader insurance and risk solutions. He will also play a key role in building out PSC’s surety bond capability, as the company invests in developing the specialist product nationally, the broker said.

“James’ leadership style aligns closely with PSC’s values: commercial clarity, personal accountability and a long‑term view of client relationships,” the business commented on the appointment. “We’re excited about what this appointment represents for our clients, partners and people as we continue to invest in specialist capability across the business.“
