QBE Asia has appointed Chie Yamamura as Head of Japan Desk, effective April 1, 2025, according to a Linkedin post by Ronak Shah, CEO of Wholesale Markets Asia at QBE.
Yamamura brings nearly 30 years of experience in non-life and facultative reinsurance, having worked across Japan, Singapore, and London.
In her new role, she will be based in Singapore, where she will lead QBE’s Japan Facultative strategy, oversee business development, and enhance relationships with brokers and cedants in Japan and across Asia. She will also collaborate with QBE’s underwriting team to expand the company’s wholesale reinsurance proposition.
The insurer added that her leadership would support its efforts to provide specialised facultative reinsurance solutions tailored to client needs.
