Rajive Kumaraswami has been appointed as managing director and chief executive officer of Cholamandalam MS General Insurance, effective 1 June 2026, subject to regulatory approval, the company said in a regulatory disclosure dated 10 April 2026.
He succeeds V. Suryanarayanan, who joined the Murugappa Group in November 1996 and will retire on 31 May 2026 after nearly 30 years with the conglomerate.
Kumaraswami brings over three decades of experience across insurance and banking. He joins from Magma General Insurance Limited, where he spent nearly 10 years, most recently as managing director and CEO. Prior to that, he was the chief representative of the Indian liaison office at SCOR.
