The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has announced the appointment of Richard Klipin as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Klipin steps into his new role from the Financial Services Council of New Zealand (FSC) where he was also Chief Executive Officer. Prior, he served as CEO of the Association of Financial Advisers.

The selection of Klipin followed a comprehensive search led by NIBA’s President and the Board Executive Committee, the association said in a press release.

On the new appointment, Gary Okely, President of the NIBA, said: “Richard comes to NIBA with a strong track record across membership associations and the financial services spectrum which is why we believe he is perfectly positioned to lead our organisation into the future.”

Klipin also spoke about his new role, commenting, “The NIBA community is a powerful one that guides and advises Australians to better manage and understand their risks. I look forward to working with the Board, the members and key stakeholders as we build on our platform of representation, professionalism and community.”
