Global loss adjuster Sedgwick has promoted Aruna Chandrapalan to Partner of Forensic Accounting Services in Asia, the business announced in a media release on Wednesday.

Chandrapalan has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined Sedgwick in the UK in 2017 as Senior Manager. In 2021, she was named Director of Forensic Accounting Services, and in 2023, she moved to Singapore as Head of Forensic Accounting Services for Asia.

Chandrapalan has managed complex claims and has expertise in business interruption, economic damage quantification, forensic accounting, fidelity, pre-loss reviews, product recalls and stock valuations, Sedgwick said.

“Aruna is a leading expert in the market and a visionary trailblazer with a sharp focus on providing effective solutions to complex claims,” said Veronica Grigg, Sedgwick Chief Executive Officer, Asia.

“The Asia insurance market continues to evolve, and under Aruna’s leadership, our forensic accounting services team is leading the way in supporting the increased demand for dedicated problem-solving as business interruption claims grow more complex,” Grigg added.

Chandrapalan commented, “We are focused on changing and growing with the market by expanding work in countries throughout Asia.

It’s our mission to help people and companies work through the claim process often in times when there is loss, peril and dramatic changes to their business but we are there to help them — to reorganise, restructure and support a new plan for the future.”

Chandrapalan is dual-qualified as a Chartered Loss Adjuster and Accountant. She also serves as treasurer and chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA).

Sedgwick operates across nine countries in Asia: China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Its Asia-based forensic accounting team has experience in a wide range of sectors, from construction and manufacturing to cyber and retail.
