S&P Global Ratings in Hong Kong said on 9 February 2026 that it had withdrawn its A− local-currency long-term issuer credit and financial strength ratings on Sun Hung Kai Properties Insurance Ltd at the company’s request. The rating outlook was positive at the time of the withdrawal.

Neither S&P nor the insurer gave a reason for the request in the withdrawal notice.

SHKPI is a Hong Kong insurer owned by Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, focusing on commercial lines and employees’ compensation, with much of its business sourced through the parent group’s network of associated and subsidiary companies.

The move makes Sun Hung Kai Properties Insurance the second insurer to have its ratings withdrawn by S&P in recent weeks, after Shin Kong Life’s ratings were withdrawn on 31 December 2025 following its merger with Taishin Life.
