Willis, a WTW business, has appointed four aviation and aerospace specialists in India, with all four joining from Aon, as it expands its local team.

The hires are Nisha Solanki and Rushabh Thakkar as vice presidents, and Shrutik Pitale and Ganesh Bangera as managers, aviation and aerospace – India.

Solanki joins WTW after a career of about two decades at Aon Global Insurance Brokers, where she most recently served as vice president.

Thakkar takes up his new role after more than 15 years with Aon, where he was also most recently vice president. Earlier in his career, he spent more than four years with Insurance Assist India.

Pitale returns to WTW after more than eight years. He first joined the firm in 2015 and spent over three years as a senior claims handler before moving to Aon and later, Marsh. He brings more than 11 years of industry experience to the role.

Bangera joins from Aon, where he spent the past three years as a manager. He has 18 years of experience across the insurance and finance sectors, with previous roles at SMS Financial Services and First Gulf Bank.

“Building deep specialist capability is central to our business in India and across Asia. These recent appointments strengthen our Aviation business across placement, servicing and complex aviation claims. They reinforce our commitment to clients through industry-led teams that combine technical expertise, consultative risk advisory and strong market relationships,” WTW said in its announcement.

The India appointments come as WTW continues to make leadership changes in Asia. Last month, the company named Han Wei Fong as country leader for Singapore.
