At its 43rd Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) welcomed Justin Delaney and Ram Kangatharan as non-executive members to the Board. Hugo Schreuder, CEO of Australian insurer Youi, also stepped down from the ICA Board at Tuesday’s meeting.
Delaney has served as Chief Executive Officer of Zurich ANZ since July 2021 and has 25 years of experience in financial services. Kangatharan joined Auto & General in 2012 as Group Managing Director and CEO. Prior, he spent five years at Bank of Queensland, where he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Both have been appointed for 12-month terms
ICA President Nick Hawkins commented: “The new appointments bring extensive experience in both general insurance and financial services to the Board at what is a pivotal time for the general insurance industry.”
