Shailendra Sharma has been named Senior Vice President – Head of RUSO (State Insurance Plan) and Orissa Business at Zurich Kotak General Insurance, the company announced on LinkedIn.
Sharma joins Zurich Kotak following over three years with ICICI Lombard, most recently as Deputy Vice President for State Insurance Plan Coordinator and Brokers.
He brings over 25 years of industry experience, with expertise in Sales and Distribution. He has previously worked for major insurance companies in India, including Tata AIG, Bharti AXA General Insurance, and SBI General Insurance, among others.
In his new role, he will be leading the company’s operations in Orissa. He will also be responsible for Zurich Kotak’s RUSO or Rural and Social Obligation insurance arm.
RUSO insurance in India refers to regulatory obligations that require insurers to provide coverage to specified rural and social sectors, promoting financial inclusion and ensuring wider insurance penetration.
