Bupa Hong Kong has named Antonio Cantó as its new managing director, effective 1 January 2026, the insurer announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Cantó joins Bupa Hong Kong after more than 16 years with the wider Bupa Group, including most recently as CEO of Bupa Chile, as well as 12 years in leadership roles at Sanitas Seguros in Spain.

Cantó will “spearhead the next phase of growth” for the Hong Kong business, the insurer said in a statement, adding that he brings “an exceptional record of transformative leadership” to the role.

During his tenure at Bupa Chile, Cantó led the health provision business, delivering revenue growth and improved profitability, according to the company. He also oversaw the adoption of Blua, Bupa’s digital health platform.

“By empowering growth and investing in people, Antonio helps create an environment where top talent can thrive and excel in a rapidly evolving world and deliver the best health outcomes for customers,” Bupa said.
