Zurich has appointed Alex Morgan as the Head of General Insurance (GI), Australia & New Zealand.
Morgan, who will continue to be based out of Sydney, currently serves as Chief Risk Officer for Zurich Asia Pacific (APAC). He will start in his new position commencing August 1st.
“With a strong understanding of the local market, together with broad global and regional experience, Alex (Morgan) will bring both continuity and a fresh perspective as we seek to further advance our customer offering and competitive position,” said Justin Delaney, CEO at Zurich Australia & New Zealand.
Morgan has been with Zurich for nearly 11 years and previously led GI Retail (SME) and Cover-More businesses in Australia & New Zealand. Before that, he was Head of Specialty (APAC), Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Corporate (Japan), and Head of Financial Institutions and Management Liability (United Kingdom).
Morgan´s appointment follows Sean Walker’s promotion to the newly created role of Head of Commercial Insurance (CI) & Chief Technical Officer (APAC).
Walker will relocate to Singapore and join the Global CI Leadership Team and become a member of the Zurich Group Leadership Team, while consolidating and enhancing Zurich’s underwriting and claims capabilities across APAC.
