QBE has appointed Evariste Yeung as Asia head of motor, accident and health, and householder, in an expanded role, effective 1 July 2026, the company announced on Thursday.

Yeung joined QBE in 2024, where he most recently served as both market lead for motor and A&H in Hong Kong and as Asia product head for motor.

He has more than 20 years of experience across insurance and actuarial consulting in Asia and the UK. Before joining the company, he was sales director at AKUR8, a global AI actuarial platform.

Yeung also served as a board member and independent executive director at Ping An Insurance Hong Kong. Earlier in his career, he held roles at WTW, AIG and AXA.

In his expanded role, Yeung will work with distribution and customer segment teams to support sustainable, profitable growth and strengthen customer propositions across the motor, A&H and householder portfolios.

The appointment adds to a series of recent senior moves announced by the company. Last month, QBE appointed Patrick Karlowski as chief operating officer for Asia and Florence Chan as head of data, analytics and AI for Asia. The insurer also tapped Andy Tsui to lead corporate underwriting in Hong Kong and Macau as well as the People Risk unit for Asia, and named Callum O’Brien as head of P&I for Asia.
