Berkley Insurance Asia has appointed Shivi Bhutani as a liability lines underwriter at the firm’s IFSC Branch in GIFT City, India, the company announced on LinkedIn on Friday.
Bhutani joins from ICICI Lombard, where she most recently served as a liability underwriter in Mumbai. Prior to that, she spent two years with K M Dastur Reinsurance Brokers in Gurugram.
“Shivi brings a strong foundation in liability insurance, legal research, and underwriting, and we are excited to have her join our team,” the company said.
The appointment adds to a series of recent people moves across Berkley’s Asia operations. The firm promoted Kenneth Cheong to head of marine, Asia, succeeding Ju-Ann Lee, who moved into a newly created senior advisory and talent development leader role. Meanwhile, its reinsurance arm, Berkley Re Asia, named Kenrick Law as head of underwriting and branch manager earlier this year.
