Australia’s Centrewest Insurance Brokers has promoted Marcel de Kok to client director in an expanded role, the brokerage announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

De Kok has been part of the wider Centrewest team for nearly 15 years, beginning with Australian Insurance Services before joining Centrewest when the two businesses came together in 2016. He most recently served as senior insurance broker.

He brings close to two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Earlier in his career, de Kok worked at Grange Insurance Solutions and Austral Risk Services, where he held roles spanning client portfolio management, schemes business and broking.

During his time with Centrewest, de Kok has expanded his client portfolio and taken on additional relationships during periods of transition across the business.

“A supportive manager and genuine team player, Marcel is also known for putting his hand up when there’s an opportunity to help – particularly when it comes to championing new IT systems and projects across the business,” the company said in its announcement.

His promotion follows another leadership appointment made by Centrewest earlier this year. Back in April, the broker named Yvonne Chew as the firm’s head of broking services.
