AIG has appointed Daina Muceniece as regional head of trade credit, APAC, the insurer’s global head of trade credit, Corine Troncy, announced on LinkedIn late Friday.

Muceniece will move to Singapore for the role, where she will work with country teams and global stakeholders to strengthen AIG’s market position, deepen client and broker relationships and support growth across the region, Troncy said.

Muceniece brings 15 years’ experience in trade credit, multinational programmes and business transformation and has been serving as AIG’s regional multinational lead, trade credit for EMEA and the UK, based in London.

She first joined the insurer through its graduate programme in 2011 and held trade credit and trade finance underwriting roles there until 2017. She then spent almost five years at Canopius, where she led the development of excess of loss trade credit solutions across APAC and North America, before returning to AIG in 2022, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Troncy said the appointment “reflects both her outstanding contribution and the strength of talent we continue to develop across our business”.

The appointment follows AIG’s promotion of Pongprat Suwan to country head of trade credit for Thailand in August. In June, James Yau, previously AIG’s head of trade credit for APAC, rejoined Coface.
