Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has announced that Carlos Gomez has been promoted to Head of Insurance, effective 30 Jan 2024. Gomez, who currently serves as Head of GC&C for the Mediterranean & Latin America, will maintain his existing responsibilities on an interim basis.
In his new role, Gomez will oversee all of GC&C’s insurance operations globally. Generali said in a statement that his responsibilities will include leading corporate portfolio management and enhancing efficiency across underwriting, pricing, loss prevention, and claims processes.
Christian Kanu, CEO of GC&C, said that he was convinced the experience Gomez had gained across a number of key markets would be invaluable to guide and enhance the GC&C business. Adding, “I am truly pleased that Carlos has accepted this global role, and I am delighted to witness how we can leverage our internal talent.”
Gomez brings over three decades of experience within the Generali Group across various senior positions. In its announcement, Generali said that his contributions have included leading the Generali Group’s expansion in Iberia and Latin America, establishing GC&C’s footprint in the Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American markets, and driving its recent transformation into the Mediterranean & Latin America Region.
