Crawford & Company has appointed Matt Donnelly as its Head of Global Technical Services (GTS), Australia, the global loss adjuster said in a press release.
Donnelly brings over thirty years of experience to the position and, in his new role, will strengthen Crawford’s major and complex property claim capabilities in Australia.
Donnelly returned to Crawford in September 2023 to head the Victoria and Tasmania GTS teams, having previously served there between 2004 and 2016. Before rejoining the loss adjuster, he held management roles for seven years at two construction firms that primarily serviced the insurance industry.
Craig McLeod, Head of Specialty at Crawford Australia, said that Donnelly’s impact on the team had been notable, adding, “Having Matt now lead our GTS teams nationally is a strategic decision to increase the consistency of service across national borders.”
Speaking on his new role, Donnelly emphasised the importance of the human touch as a critical component of the team’s approach.
“Technology will help gather information from claimants faster and more seamlessly, and make reporting back to our clients easier. Initial triage is an obvious area where technology has real value.
However, the nuts and bolts of assessing these major losses, which sit at hundreds of thousands of dollars and sometimes millions, still very much require human technical expertise to ensure fairness to all parties involved.”
