AIA Hong Kong announced on 20 June (Friday) the winners of the AIA Healthiest Schools Competition for 2024/2025: Baptist (Shai Tin Wai) Lui Ming Choi and Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui.

The primary and secondary school winners will each receive US$50,000. They will advance to the regional competition, the results of which are scheduled for 3 July.

The AIA Healthiest Schools programme aims to provide teachers with educational resources related to promoting healthy habits among young students and parents across Australia and Asia. It covers Healthy Eating, Active Lifestyles, Mental Wellbeing, and Health and Sustainability.

First introduced in 2022, the programme is part of the AIA Group’s One Billion Initiative to encourage communities to live healthier lifestyles by 2030.

In Hong Kong, participation in the programme rose to 60% with the inclusion of secondary schools for the first time.

Baptist (Shai Tin Wai) Lui Ming Choi highlighted the school’s effort to promote positivity and self-confidence through 60 well-being activities, including a 30-minute recess for sports, a whole-school exercise, and sustainable living such as farming, recycling, and environmental conservation.

Meanwhile, the Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui introduced the Whole-Person Well-being Learning Experience initiative, which enables students to contribute to digital inclusion for seniors and art therapy. The secondary school also underscored activities that improve the wellness of teachers and parents with regular positive psychology workshops, family outings, and sharing sessions.

Melissa Wong, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer of AIA Hong Kong and Macau, said: “This year marks the third cohort of the AIA Healthiest Schools Programme, with a record-breaking number of entries and an exceptional standard of quality. This achievement reflects the unwavering dedication of Hong Kong schools to fostering healthy lifestyles among students.”
