Miller has announced the formation of a new marine team in Korea, which includes KyungSeop (KS) Shim as Head of Specialty, alongside the appointments of Justin Roh, Hana Jung, and Jayce Park.
All four of the new team members join from Marsh Korea, where Shim was Head of Speciality and Head of Marine. At Miller, the new head of specialty will have an initial focus on developing the firm’s marine offering in the Korean market.
Roh brings a combination of corporate and broking experience and joins the business as Senior Vice President. He spent over 15 years handling P&I claims and legal matters at Hyundai Merchant Marine before moving into broking at Marsh Korea, where he specialised in marine and property lines, covering risks such as hull and machinery, terminal operations, transport, and logistics.
Jung’s career spans both retail and reinsurance programmes, including direct P&I and FD&D business, as well as hull and machinery, war risks, and kidnap & ransom coverages. Jung has also worked in legal and insurance roles on the client side within the shipping and logistics sectors and gained international exposure through work and training in London.
Park, meanwhile, brings extensive experience in broking and claims management, including a recent focus on placing retail and facultative reinsurance solutions for marine clients, including P&I, hull and machinery, and container risks. Earlier in her career, she also managed claims and collections across multiple specialty lines, including marine, aviation, and liability.
“We’re proud to be launching a new Marine offering in Korea. We believe that bringing Miller’s reputation for outstanding client service to this market will create real opportunity, and we’re excited to be building a dedicated team with expertise across both broking and claims,” said KS Shim.
David Kim, Miller’s Head of Korea, added: “Bringing KS and the team on board allows us to focus on growing our marine proposition in the region and further establish Korea as a meaningful location for Miller.”
The new Marine team is part of Miller Korea’s expansion into multiple business lines in the country following its launch in January 2025, with David Kim being appointed as Country Head.
