Miller has appointed Vinnisha Chandrasegar as associate director for treaty business in its recently launched Malaysian operation, the company announced on Thursday (24 September).

Chandrasegar joins from Guy Carpenter, now Marsh Re, where she most recently served as assistant vice president. Earlier, she held roles at Willis Re and Gallagher Re, supporting clients and reinsurance markets across the region, the reinsurance broker said.

“Her experience includes streamlining energy-business processes for a prominent Malaysian client, as well as resolving long-standing claims and finance matters to help support business continuity”, Miller said in a LinkedIn post.

In her new role, Chandrasegar will develop and structure reinsurance solutions for clients, working with colleagues and reinsurance markets to assess risks, identify opportunities and support client servicing.

The appointment comes as Miller accelerates its build-out across Asia and establishes a presence in the Malaysian reinsurance market.

Earlier in September, Miller launched a Malaysian reinsurance operation under a Labuan licence, the latest step in the specialist broker’s expansion across Asia after investments in Korea and Japan.

The launch followed a series of regional hires, including Hiroaki Wakamatsu as business development and credit insurance specialist in Japan and Sailesh Divakaram as head of treaty Asia earlier this year.
