UK-based global (re)insurer Miller on Monday announce the appointment of Sailesh Divakaram as head of treaty Asia.

Divakaram joined the business on 2 February after eight years at Gallagher Re, including as executive director. He brings more than 30 years of experience across broking, underwriting, and risk management, with a deep understanding of the Asian (re)insurance market. He has also previously served in the treaty division at Guy Carpenter.

Based in Miller’s Singapore office for his new role, he reports to Richard Broad, head of treaty for Asia-Pacific and is responsible for developing the team serving a rapidly expanding Miller client base in Asia.

“The Asian treaty market represents a significant growth opportunity for Miller as we continue to build out our global reinsurance capabilities,” Broad said. “Sailesh’s appointment reflects Miller’s long-term commitment to the market and our continued investment in the industry’s leading talent.”

Divakaram’s appointment follows a pivotal year for Miller’s Asia buildout, with 2025 milestones that include the (re)insurer’s acquisition of AHJ and the launch of Miller Korea.
