AIG has promoted Angus Hon as regional professional indemnity (PI) lead for Asia Pacific, according to a LinkedIn post from Ryan Thomas, head of financial lines for the region. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Hon, who is based in Hong Kong, has been with AIG for nearly a decade, joining in May 2016, and had been serving as commercial PI leader for Hong Kong before the promotion. Prior to joining the insurer, he spent five years at global broker Willis.

Thomas said he was delighted to see Hon in the new role, adding that, since joining AIG, Hon had “played a key role in our financial lines team.”

The move is the latest in a series of new personnel appointments by AIG in Asia Pacific over the last month, including Scott Leney as its new APAC regional president, Liam Baughan as head of casualty for Australia, and Reed Rohijas as network partner relationship manager for APAC.
