AIG has appointed Kathleen Warden as General Manager for its Australian operations, effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval, Chris Colahan, Regional President for Asia Pacific, announced on LinkedIn on Friday.

She first joined AIG in 2023 and has been serving as Head of Client & Broker Engagement for Australia and Asia Pacific.

“A client-focused and respected people leader, Kat is known for her technical expertise, commercial acumen and strong relationships across the market,” Colahan said in his announcement. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kat for many years, and under her leadership, I am confident we will continue to deliver real value to our customers, brokers, and other stakeholders.”

In her new role, Warden will oversee AIG’s Australian business with “a focus on driving growth and sustaining our high-performance culture,” Colahan added.

Warden’s experience prior to joining AIG includes over six years at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, including as Head of Customer & Broker Engagement, and nearly five years at Berkley Australia.

Her promotion follows another appointment by AIG in Asia Pacific this week, with Thanathon Kiratipasuk named as General Manager and CEO for Thailand.
