Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI) has appointed Kimberly Kim as Senior Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific Insurance Institutional Client Solutions, the firm said in a September 30 media release.

Based in Hong Kong, Kim will take on the newly created role to drive BXCI’s expansion across Asia-Pacific. She brings over two decades of experience in the region’s insurance market, most recently serving as BlackRock’s Head of Financial Institutions Coverage in APAC.

“Kimberly will play an instrumental role as we continue to expand BXCI’s presence across APAC,” said Tyler Dickson, Global Head of Client Relations at BXCI. “She adds to Blackstone’s deep bench of talent in the region, which has been a key driver of our differentiation and success for more than two decades.”

Philip Sherrill, BXCI’s Global Head of Insurance, added that the appointment underscores the group’s commitment to strengthening its insurance platform and client relationships in APAC.

BXCI has expanded its Asia-Pacific operations over the past three years, committing to more than 20 deals, building relationships with major insurers, and adding staff in Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore, according to the firm.
