Canopius poach QBE veteran Sam Harrison as new Group Chief Underwriting Officer

Canopius Group have announced the appointment of Sam Harrison as Group Chief Underwriting Officer. He previously held the same position at QBE and was managing underwriting business in 27 countries, with a portfolio valued at US$20 billion GWP.

Harrison will continue to be based in London, where he will report to CEO Neil Roberton and join the Canopius Group leadership team. He will lead Canopius Group’s diverse portfolio of business across its three regional business units: Asia-Pacific, London, and the US & Bermuda.

Harrison has nearly three decades of experience in the global P&C and specialty insurance, having served 25 years at QBE across energy, marine and international markets.
