Chaucer has launched its marine offering via the Lloyd’s Singapore platform, appointing Ivan Sit as Class Underwriter to drive the expansion in the region.
Sit brings over 25 years of Asia marine experience to the speciality (re)insurer and joins from China Taiping Insurance, where he was Head of Marine.
In his new role, he reports to Margaret To, CEO of Chaucer Singapore, and Simon Schnorr, Head of Marine & Energy at Chaucer.
“Marine is one of Chaucer’s core lines of businesses and Ivan’s regional expertise and well-established relationships with clients, brokers and carriers across APAC will be invaluable to Chaucer,” Schnorr says.
Singapore-based Sit’s career before China Taiping includes time at Asia Capital Re, The Shipowners’ Club, Sompo, and Malaysian Re.
