Diana Baer is set to become Chief Financial Officer of Munich Re Australasia, effective 1 July 2025, the company announced. She will succeed David Field, who has moved to the role of CFO and Member of the Management Board at Great Lakes Insurance SE.

Baer has worked at Munich Re for 17 years, serving in a range of finance positions across both life and non-life (re)insurance businesses.

Her experience includes executive management, strategic planning, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. She has also led finance teams and engaged with stakeholders across multiple business areas.

Commenting on her new role, Baer said: “A great team awaits me and I’m really looking forward to my new role. The CFO position is more than just getting the numbers right, it has become an important business enabling function. We will use Munich Re’s strong balance sheet to remain a reliable long-term partner for our clients in Australia and New Zealand, even in times of increasing climate risks.”
