Chubb has appointed Edward Kopp as the Regional President for the Far East. In his new role, Kopp will manage Chubb’s business in the Far East and will also be responsible for Chubb’s P&C operations in Japan. He is expected to commence the role from September 1st, pending regulatory approval
He reports to Juan Luis Ortega, the Executive Vice President of Chubb Group and the President of Overseas General Insurance.
Kopp was previously the Country President of Chubb Korea and steps into the role previously held by Diego Sosa, who has been appointed Country President for Chubb Mexico.
Speaking on Kopp’s appointment, Ortega praised his experience and achievements. “Over more than a decade at Chubb, Ed has also led our general insurance business in Thailand and had regional responsibilities running our A&H operations in Asia-Pacific. I have confidence that Ed will continue driving the success of Chubb in Japan,” he said.
Having spent 25 years in insurance and finance, Kopp has held leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and Head of Accident & Health in the Asia Pacific for Chubb.
Prior to joining the company in 2012, he was the Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer for HSBC Insurance at Hana HSBC Life Insurance in Korea, and held senior roles at Cigna in Hong Kong and Korea.
