FWD Malaysia has named Aman Chowla as CEO of FWD Takaful, with Mak See Sen joining the business to assume Chowla’s former role as CEO of FWD Insurance Berhad.

Both appointments will be effective from 18 November 2024.

Chowla first joined FWD in 2023 and will succeed Salim Majid Zain, who is set to retire after serving as CEO of FWD Takaful since 2019. His previous experience has seen him work across several countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and India, in senior roles for companies such as AIA and Prudential.

Mak joins FWD from Manulife Asia, where he most recently served as Chief Transformation Officer.  He brings 24 years of industry experience across Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Greater Bay Area, including senior roles at AXA, ING Life, and Prudential

“Aman has strong leadership capabilities that we’re looking forward to leveraging at FWD Takaful,” said Binayak Dutta, Managing Director of FWD Group on the leadership rejig. Speaking on Mak’s appointment, he added, “We’re thrilled to welcome Mak to FWD. His experience in leading and developing strategies to build businesses that are innovative and customer-led will be invaluable as we scale up our nascent Malaysian life insurance business.”

The appointments come as FWD continues to expand its presence in Malaysia, having increased its stake in FWD Takaful to 70% earlier this year.
