Gallagher Re has appointed Minesh Jani as chief executive officer of India, the reinsurance broker announced in a LinkedIn post on Monday.

Returning to India, Jani will join the reinsurance broker from Howden’s DIFC branch, where he has worked since 2023, most recently as managing director.

Prior to that, he was CEO of Ed MENA, India and the Indian subcontinent. He has also held reinsurance leadership roles for firms such as ARPL, Willis Insurance Brokers, ICICI Lombard, and J.B. Boda Group.

The appointment comes months after Gallagher Re named Roshan Perera as managing director and head of APAC and Richard Jones as chairman for the region.

Perera, who joined Gallagher Re in 2022, previously served as head of APAC strategic solutions. Jones joined the reinsurance broker in August 2025 and had been serving as chairman for South East Asia, Taiwan and Korea prior to his appointment.

The pair succeeded former APAC head Mark O’Brien, who left the company to pursue opportunities outside the broking industry, and former APAC chairman Mark Morley, who retired.
