Generali Central Insurance has appointed Chandraprakash Jain as Chief Financial Officer-designate, the business said via LinkedIn on Thursday.

Based in Mumbai, Jain brings more than two decades of experience spanning finance, insurance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and business operations. He joins from Raheja QBE General Insurance, where he served as CFO for eight years.

Before that, Jain held finance and accounting roles at CignaTTK Health Insurance, IDBI Federal Life Insurance, Tata AIA Life Insurance and IFFCO Tokio General Insurance.

“Chandraprakash brings strong financial experience and strategic leadership to the organisation. We look forward to his contributions in creating long-term value for the organisation and its stakeholders,” Generali said.

The appointment adds to a series of senior leadership changes at the India joint venture between Generali and Central Bank of India.

In September, Generali Central Insurance appointed Prem Sivadas as chief commercial officer. In August, it named Sandeep Rathi senior vice president and head of underwriting, while Krishnamoorthy Rao took over as managing director and CEO of the general insurance business on 1 April.

The leadership changes extend to its life insurance counterpart, Generali Central Life Insurance, which recently appointed Saddam Hossain as chief risk officer in Mumbai.

The hiring strategy aligns with Generali’s ambitions to tap into India’s growth potential across its businesses. Speaking to (Re)in Asia, Rob Leonardi, Generali’s Asia regional officer, described the country as one of the group’s key markets for its next phase of regional growth.
