Generali has named Luca Cetrano as group chief investment officer, effective 1 June, as the insurer reshuffles leadership of its investment operations.
Reporting to group general manager Marco Sesana, Cetrano will oversee the direction, coordination and monitoring of investment activities across Generali’s insurance portfolios.
Cetrano joined Generali Investments in 2012 and has held a number of positions within the business. In 2021, he was appointed head of portfolio construction and tactical asset allocation.
Most recently, his responsibilities were expanded to include strategic asset allocation and management of the group’s holding investments portfolio.
The appointment marks the latest step in Cetrano’s progression within Generali’s investment division, where he has spent more than a decade in portfolio construction and asset allocation roles.
The move comes amid broader leadership changes across the Generali group. Earlier this week, Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) Asia named Kai Ao as head of business development, strengthening its commercial insurance operations in the region.
