Beazley has named Stefan Wunderlich as Head of Parametric Insurance, effective 10 June, as part of the specialty insurer’s continued expansion of its property risk capabilities.
Based in Zurich, Wunderlich will report to Richard Montminy, Group Head of Property Risks. He brings more than two decades of experience in modelling and underwriting property and natural catastrophe risks, most recently at Swiss Re.
During his time at Swiss Re, Wunderlich held several senior positions, including Chief Product Officer, Risk Data & Services. He also led initiatives focused on developing parametric solutions for corporate clients and advised businesses on managing climate-related exposures. In 2021, Wunderlich co-founded the insurtech company emilian Ltd.
Commenting on the appointment, Montminy said: “Stefan Wunderlich is a seasoned expert, with the leadership experience and personal commitment to this specialism and I look forward to working with him as we further build out our parametric offering.”
