HDI Global has launched a new overarching Energy Unit to address the growing demands of the energy sector amidst its ongoing transformation, the company announced on Monday.  

This move aims to support clients and broker partners in navigating the complexities of the energy transition with a streamlined point of contact for energy risks across the entire value chain. 

The The line of business energy unit will be led by Franz Adamczyk, previously Head of Global Risk Property, bringing over four decades of experience in the insurance sector. Adamczyk will report directly to Dr Dirk Höring, a member of HDI Global’s Management Board. 

HDI Global’s Energy Unit will focus on cross-divisional collaboration, bringing together specialists from Commercial and Specialty Lines, Claims, and HDI Risk Consulting. By pooling knowledge and best practices, the unit seeks to deliver comprehensive, cross-line business solutions spanning Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, and Renewable sectors.  

The company said that this enhanced focus on energy risk management is driven by feedback from clients who are seeking better insurance coverage and innovative services as they adapt to new technologies. HDI Global aims to position itself as a one-stop shop, providing bespoke services and coverage, all while maintaining a customer-centric approach to supporting the green transformation of the energy sector. 

“The energy transition occupies many different industries around the world. All these industries have their individual concerns with this huge transformation. One of these concerns is to maintain adequate insurance cover at any time when adapting to new technologies or creating innovative processes”, Adamczyk says.
