HDI Global Japan has named Takanobu Saigo as its new Head of Claims, effective February 1, 2026, the commercial insurer announced via LinkedIn on Friday.

Saigo joins from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, where he held several senior roles across Singapore, Japan, and Thailand.

“Takanobu brings many years of expertise in claims management, with extensive experience in both property and casualty insurance,” HDI said. “His background includes significant international assignments, through which he has developed a well‑balanced and globally informed approach to claims leadership.”

His appointment follows HDI Global’s naming of Hiro Yamasaki as managing director for Japan last month.
