Aon has announced the appointment of Hide Akagi as Senior Shipping Specialist, Japan.
Tokyo-based Akagi joins from Munich Re and will be responsible for business development for Aon’s Shipping Team, reporting to Stephen Rudman, the broker’s Head of Marine for Asia.
In an announcement on LinkedIn, Rudman commented, “I am thrilled to announce that Hide Akagi has joined Aon today. He brings a wealth of experience to our team, having previously served as the Head of Claims at Munich Re (Japan) for seven years”.
Akagi brings nearly thirty years of marine insurance experience to the new position. Prior to his time at Munich Re, he spent 17 years at AIG Japan, where he held senior roles, including Head of Commercial Line Claims and Manager of Marine Claims/Commercial Lines Claim Operations. Prior, he developed his marine insurance industry knowledge at Mitsui Sumitomo Marine.
