HSBC Life has announced the appointment of three key members to its leadership team, naming Winnie Ching as Global Head of Product, Raj Kumar as Global Head of Customer and Marketing, and Alison Law as Global Head of Distribution.
Ching joins from Swiss Re where she held regional and global leadership roles for over a decade, most recently serving as Chief Risk Officer for Asia and Global Head of Life and Health Risk Management.
Kumar is the former Chief Marketing Officer of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) in the UK and EMEA and spent nearly a decade with Aviva in marketing, customer, brand, and reputation roles. He has also held senior leadership positions at Experian, Nokia, and Siemens AG, in the UK and Asia.
Law re-joins HSBC from Hang Seng Bank, where she was Head of Private Banking and Trust Services. She previously spent over 25 years with HSBC in roles covering insurance, strategy, distribution, and wealth management.
In a statement, Greg Hingston, CEO of HSBC Global Insurance and Partnerships, said that the trio’s expertise and proven track record would help enable the insurer to execute its strategy.
“We have a clear growth ambition to fully optimise our integrated bancassurance model and develop HSBC Life-led distribution channels. We are committed to bring the best of HSBC Life, and the entire Group, to our customers as part of our ‘total wealth’ proposition,” Hingston added.
The new appointees join at a time when the firm has delivered strong financial results – with revenues reaching US$1.19bn in Q3 2023, up 28% year-on-year.
