Indian insurtech platform Turtlemint Fintech Solutions has invested ₹1.5bn (US$15.7m) into its wholly owned subsidiary Turtlemint Insurance Broking Services (TIB).

The board of directors of Turtlemint Fintech Solutions approved the investment through a rights issue subscription on 14 October, the company said in a stock exchange announcement. The investment is intended to help meet TIB’s working capital requirements, including lease payments for its existing properties.

The company said the investment does not constitute a related-party transaction under applicable regulations.

TIB is a composite broker registered with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), offering reinsurance services and retail insurance products across motor, health, life and general segments.

The subsidiary reported a turnover of ₹10.72bn in the financial year ended March 2026, up from ₹6.75bn in the financial year ended March 2025.

In June, Turtlemint Fintech Solutions raised around US$93m through its initial public offering, which included a combination of a fresh issue of shares and an offer for sale.

Turtlemint, at the time, said proceeds from the fresh issue would be used to strengthen cloud and server infrastructure, for salaries for product development and technology teams, marketing and brand-building activities, and lease payment obligations.
