Markel has appointed experienced underwriter Mabel Ng as Marine Underwriter in Singapore.

Ng has rich experience in marine and general insurance. Before joining Markel, Ng was responsible for placing and tailoring insurance coverages for both marine and general insurance. Prior to that, she had extensive experience as a marine hull and liability underwriter for over a decade, including roles at Great American and RSA.

Markel believes that Ng’s expertise in shipping risks “further enhances” the company’s marine underwriting team and capabilities in the Asia Pacific region.

“Her strong knowledge in marine and commercial insurance, combined with her focus on providing excellent client service, will be a valuable addition to our goal of creating dependable insurance solutions for businesses in the Asia-Pacific marine sector,” said Christian Stobbs, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Markel.

According to the company, the appointment is in line with Markel’s long-term investment in global markets, and Ng solidifies Markel’s dedication to building a team of talent in the region.

Markel is a global speciality insurer, headquartered in the US and offering solutions for individuals, businesses, and professionals.
