(Re)in Summary

• Macquarie Insurance Facility (MIF) will launch Longbrook Insurance, a multi-line underwriting business in London, starting in early 2026.
• Longbrook will offer transaction liability and energy insurance to global clients, focusing on M&A risk and energy asset coverage.
• Shaun Reynolds has been appointed to lead the transaction liability line.

Macquarie Insurance Facility (MIF) on Thursday announced it will launch a new multi-line underwriting business, Longbrook Insurance.

Based out of London, Longbrook will begin operating in early 2026, serving global clients, initially across two core lines: transaction liability and energy insurance.

The transaction liability line will cover mergers and acquisitions (M&A) risk, including warranty and indemnity and tax liability insurance, while the energy line will provide property damage and business interruption cover for the construction and operation of energy assets, with a stated focus on the energy transition and related infrastructure.

Longbrook says it intends to deliver long-term insurance solutions by giving clients access to a differentiated distribution platform and enhanced risk-management insights, while drawing on MIF’s broad network of relationships with leading global insurers and brokers.

Shaun Reynolds has been named Head of Transaction Liability, bringing more than two decades of underwriting and M&A experience. Before joining Longbrook, Reynolds held underwriting roles at AIG in Sydney and at Volante Global, a Lloyd’s Syndicate-backed operation.

Nick Wilski, Global Head of MIF, stated that the introduction of Longbrook is the “next step” in the company’s strategy to provide diversified solutions to clients. “Longbrook’s team will have deep underwriting expertise in managing transaction liability and energy infrastructure risks,” Wilski said.
