McLarens has appointed Lam Choy Heng as Managing Director of McLarens Malaysia, the global loss adjusting firm said on Thursday.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Lam will lead McLarens Malaysia’s operations, overseeing business strategy, client engagement, operational performance and the development of the local team.
Lam joined McLarens in 2023 and has since played a key role in expanding the firm’s presence in Malaysia. The company credited him with strengthening client relationships, enhancing technical capabilities and supporting business growth.
“Malaysia is a key market for McLarens in Asia, and Lam’s appointment reflects our commitment to investing in local leadership and talent,” Mike Campbell-Pitt, Regional Director, Asia, said.
He added that he had worked with Lam for many years and looked forward to continuing to grow the company’s Malaysian business under his leadership.
Commenting on his appointment, Lam said, “Malaysia’s insurance market continues to evolve, creating new opportunities and challenges for our clients.”
As part of the leadership transition, Choong Hon Mun will remain with McLarens as Business Advisor, providing strategic guidance and support to the leadership team.
McLarens said Choong, who has nearly five decades of experience in loss adjusting and insurance claims management, will continue supporting key client and market relationships while providing strategic counsel to the Malaysian business.
Choong said he was proud of the team built in Malaysia and looked forward to supporting Lam and the wider business as it pursues future growth opportunities.
The appointments form part of McLarens’ ongoing investment in Malaysia and its broader strategy of providing claims services and specialist expertise to insurers, brokers, corporates and risk managers across the market.
In June last year, McLarens appointed Torben Bell as Managing Director of its Australian operations, days after it had acquired Property & Forensic Assessing (PFA), a Melbourne-based loss adjusting firm.
