MLC Life Insurance has announced the appointment of two new executive roles, naming Gerard Kerr as Chief Executive, Individual Business, and Jane McGovern as Chief Customer and Strategy Officer.
Based in Sydney, Kerr is joining MLC Life after over three years with ClearView Wealth, where he took on the role of Group Executive – Life Insurance.
Kerr brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry to his new role. He has previously worked for Zurich Financial Services Australia for over a year, ANZ Wealth for over 11 years, and Asteron for over sever years.
Commenting on his appointment, Kerr said: “MLC Life Insurance is a great business with big ambitions. I’ve been tasked with putting advisers at the centre of our retail business and I’m excited to work with an incredible team and join an already stellar effort happening in this space.”
“We’re very fortunate to have someone with Gerard’s breadth of experience and expertise join the executive team at such an important time,” MLC Life Insurance CEO Kent Griffin stated.
Meanwhile, McGovern is not new to MLC Life Insurance, first joining the company in 2022 as Chief Risk Officer. She brings over 25 years of industry experience to her new appointment.
Prior to joining MLC Life, she worked in senior roles for numerous firms, including icare NSW, Allianz Australia, and Zurich Financial Services Australia, among others.
