Nagarajan Girishankar appointed Reinsurance Chair for Howden India

Howden has appointed Nagarajan Girishankar as Chair of Reinsurance to the India team, the global brokerage announced in a statement on LinkedIn.

Girishankar brings over four decades of industry experience, with expertise across various business lines and sectors, including property, marine, oil and gas energy, port package, casualty, financial lines, motor and consumer products, credit, cyber and retail products among others.

Howden said that, as the new Reinsurance Chair, Girishankar will be involved in expanding Howden’s company profile across business lines, including oil and energy, marine and property.

Girishankar joins the brokerage having worked at Pioneer Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers as Director from 2019 to 2024. Before Pioneer, he worked in key leadership positions for K M Dastur Reinsurance Brokers (as Director from 1997 to 2019), Jubilee Insurance (based in Mauritius) and The New India Assurance (spanning across Mumbai and Mauritius).
