Malaysia-based AmMetLife Takaful Berhad (AmMetLife Takaful) has appointed Nazrulhisham Abdul Hamid as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 16, 2025, the company announced in a press release on Friday (June 20).
Nazrul joins from Zurich Takaful Malaysia, where he was CEO. He brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience in senior roles and has spent ten years in takaful, covering both family and general takaful sales and operations.
Commenting on the appointment, Elena Butarova, MetLife’s Regional Head for Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal and Vietnam, said: “We are excited to welcome Hj. Nazrul to AmMetLife Takaful. His proven leadership, deep industry knowledge, and strong track record in driving growth and operational excellence will be instrumental in taking our Takaful business to new heights.”
