Marsh has appointed Anna Scott as chief executive officer of Marsh New Zealand, succeeding Toni Ferrier, who stepped down from the role at the end of August.

Scott will also retain her position as president of Marsh People and Investments in New Zealand, following the rebranding of Mercer under the Marsh brand.

She joined Marsh in 2025 with more than 20 years of experience across financial services and consulting in New Zealand and international markets. Prior to joining the business, Scott was chief executive of Smart, a Kiwi fund manager and exchange-traded fund provider. She has also served on the Technology Committee of NZX Limited and previously held leadership roles at Hobson Wealth Partners, Koura Wealth and JPMorgan.

Ferrier left Marsh after two years leading the New Zealand business, where she served as CEO of Marsh NZ and president of Marsh Risk NZ. Following her departure, Matthew Riddle, executive chairman of Marsh Risk NZ, was appointed interim president of Marsh Risk New Zealand.

The leadership changes coincide with a wider brand overhaul across Marsh’s businesses. From September 1, Mercer officially adopted the Marsh brand while Guy Carpenter began operating globally as Marsh Re, retiring a name that had been used in reinsurance broking for more than a century.

The rebranding was first announced in October 2025, when Marsh McLennan said it would phase out its corporate name and bring its businesses under the Marsh brand, with the transition slated to be completed by 2027.
