Prudential Singapore and the South East Community Development Council (CDC) have launched an initiative aimed at equipping children with financial literacy, health awareness and climate resilience skills, the insurer announced on Monday.

The programme, Get Fit! Get Lit! (GFGL), will reach 3,000 children aged 7 to 12 across the South East District by end-2027 through schools and community partners.

The launch event saw participation from 145 children and family members, along with 20 Prudential Financial representatives. The partners also signed an agreement to formalise the rollout of the programme.

GFGL combines financial education with health and climate awareness through classroom sessions and interactive activities. Children are introduced to basic money concepts such as earning, saving, spending and donating, alongside lessons on how climate change and health risks, such as dengue, can affect daily life.

Prudential Singapore Chief Executive Chan San San said the programme aims to build early life habits in money management, health and environmental awareness, adding that volunteers from the insurer’s workforce and financial advisory network will support its delivery.

South East District Mayor Dinesh Vasu Dash said the initiative demonstrates how community partnerships can deliver practical learning and help children build stronger foundations for the future.

The programme will be implemented across up to 15 schools in the district, including CHIJ (Katong) Primary, St. Gabriel’s Primary School and Geylang Methodist School (Primary), as well as community organisations such as TRANS Family Service Centre and Thye Hua Kwan Family Service Centre.

GFGL builds on Prudential’s earlier financial literacy initiative, Cha-Ching, developed by its Prudence Foundation, which has reached more than 20,000 children since 2018.
