Founded in 2007, SunCar is an insurtech company that designs, develops, and runs digital platforms that provide drivers with seamless access to automotive services and insurance options through an extensive network of providers across China.
The collaboration will see Wuhan JIDU, a joint venture between tech giant Baidu and automaker Geely, integrate Shanghai-headquartered SunCar’s cloud-based insurance technology platform to serve its customers across the country.
SunCar’s platform will support end-to-end insurance services, including instant quoting, underwriting, electronic policy issuance, and claims management, all powered by artificial intelligence and big data. The platform also facilitates connections between Wuhan JIDU and leading insurers and intermediaries, allowing customers to access tailored insurance solutions with enhanced efficiency.
In a statement, Ye Zaichang, Chairman and CEO of SunCar Technology Group, highlighted the partnership’s significance, saying, “This partnership goes beyond providing a service—it represents a shared vision to redefine the auto insurance experience in China.” He added that combining SunCar’s AI-powered platform with Wuhan JIDU’s advancements in electric and autonomous vehicles helps them design a “comprehensive, digital-first insurance ecosystem” for today’s tech-savvy consumer base.
