Qubit Underwriting, a Managing General Agent (MGA) which specialises in digital asset insurance, has appointed Wendy Lee as its Chief Commercial Officer, as announced by CEO, Helen Ye, on LinkedIn today.
Lee arrives at Qubit with a rich background in underwriting and distribution and brings decades of experience, including a recent five-year tenure at QBE and previous positions at AIG and Ageas. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving Qubit’s distribution efforts and expanding the MGA’s presence across key markets.
Recent regulatory changes have spurred growing demand for digital asset insurance in Asia, but speciality expertise is needed to underwrite the fast-moving and technical space. Having received its HKIA licence in January, Qubit is looking to address this growing demand, with Lee joining the business to help drive that growth.
Helen Ye, Founder and CEO of Qubit, commented, “We are confident that [Lee’s] leadership and expertise will help us further solidify our position as a trusted provider of digital asset insurance globally.”
On her new role, Lee said, “Qubit’s commitment to innovation, combined with its deep understanding of digital asset risks, positions the company as a leader in the industry. I look forward to expanding our market reach and delivering exceptional values to our customers and partners.”
Lee’s move coincides with the Hong Kong-based MGA’s announcement last week that it had completed its Pre-Series A funding round, which saw notable participation from a group led by Singaporean billionaire Kwee Liong Tek.
