Noble’s expanded responsibilities form part of a broader push to enhance coordination across Zurich’s mainland China and Hong Kong operations.
Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Martin Noble as chief financial officer of Greater China, in addition to his existing role as CFO of Hong Kong, the insurer said on Tuesday.
Noble joined Zurich in 2014 as a senior actuary and has held a range of finance and actuarial leadership roles during his 12 years with the insurer. Before joining Zurich, he held actuarial and senior advisory positions at KPMG in the UK and China.
“In this expanded role, Martin will strengthen collaboration between our Hong Kong and China finance teams, enhancing coordination in financial management, accounting and treasury activities,” Zurich said on LinkedIn.
The insurer said the appointment supports its efforts to strengthen collaboration between its Hong Kong and China teams across functions. Zurich has also recently expanded its team across Asia Pacific.
Last month, the company appointed Dylan Bryant as head of Zurich Multinational & Captives, Asia Pacific, and Patrick Fyson as head of property, Asia, both based in Singapore.
Separately, Zurich most recently completed its US$10.9bn acquisition of Beazley this month, marking the year’s largest transaction in the insurance sector. The transaction, first announced in March, combines Zurich’s specialty insurance operations with Beazley’s specialty underwriting platform and Lloyd’s of London franchise.
